God's Will

Last Thursday was again such a blessing as we studied the faith and promises of God. We learned some of the many promises that God has given us and even shared some of our favorite scriptures that are full of promises for all of us.

This week, as we turn to study Chapter 4, "Knowing God's Will," I pray that He will make your paths straight, as Proverbs 3:6 says (the promise that I shared last week that has been special in my life!) in the Bible. As the introduction to Chapter 4 says, "The key to knowing God's will is understanding His heart for you and developing a good relationship with Him."

Reminders: Read Chapter 4 for this week; Our memory verse is Romans 10:9-10 [New Living Translation]; Z. and C., you are down to share this week.

Good luck to you as you go through your revision week and begin your exams on Saturday. You are all in my prayers...and know, that God is with you as He always is!

God is in Control

As we all joined together this past Thursday, we discussed what it truly means to make Christ the Lord in your life.  We have all been challenged to remember that Christ is the center of our lives and therefore deserves our dedication to Him...and us to release the control of our lives to Him!  What a tough thing to do!  But as Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, God knows the plans for our lives and therefore, we need to surrender our lives to Christ!  What comfort we should find in that.  I challenge you this week, as you finish up your last week of classes and look toward the future, to remember that God DOES know the plans for your life...ALL OF THEM...and He will guide you every step of the way.  As the introduction in Chapter 3 says (in a statement that is so convicting to me personally), "Biblical faith says, 'Lord, I trust You!"  Trust Him...He knows best!!

Blessings to you as you wrap up this week of classes and begin to study for those exams in a few weeks.  God is helping you, whether that be walking beside you or carrying you or simply holding your hand...He is there!

Reminders: Our memory verse this week is Romans 5:8; Read Chapter 3, "Faith and the Promises of God."  M. you are down to share this next week.

The Lordship of Christ

Another blessing from God was given to us, I do believe!  What interesting and wonderful discussions that we had...you have such wonderful insights into the Bible and questions about our study that I had never considered.  I hope that the first chapter was a good look into the Bible of how we might mature in Christ as we walk with Him.

This week's chapter is titled, "The Lordship of Christ."  This chapter helps to remind us that, if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, that we are to "obey His lordship."  Through His leadership, we can know the completeness of his love and the protection that he provides through that love.  One of the verses that is suggested as a verse for meditation in the chapter is Colossians 1:16.  I encourage you to meditate on this verse and see how God reveals Himself through this verse.

**I realize that there are some of you who still do not have books.  I will be glad to place an order, although the order may take a week or more to get in, so keep that in mind (in other words, you may not have the book until the week after next).  If you would like a book, please let me know by Sunday (either at church or through email), and I will place the order Sunday.**

*Reminders: Read chapter 2, "The Lordship of Christ"; memory verses-Romans 3:23, 6:23; E. and H. you are down to share next week.

Lifelong Adventure

It was truly a wonderful evening as we began our Bible study group last night. We were 11 women gathered together in the church experiencing the love of Christ.

We learned about our calling that God has given us to share the Gospel with others and some simple tips on how to do just that. God was truly praised and worshipped as I listened to so many of you talk and I could see the thirst for God and His Word in everyone's hearts! It was so awesome, and you all are an inspiration to me already.

So, now, as we begin our book, "Walking with Christ" (a study by NavPress), I pray that God will be with you in your studies. Our first chapter, "Maturing in Christ," will begin by taking you back to the time when you first accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior. I love what the authors say in the introduction paragraph: "Becoming a believer begins a lifelong adventure of knowing God better, loving Him more, and being transformed into the likeness of Christ." I will pray for each of you as you seek/begin/continue this "lifelong adventure!"

Reminders: Memory verse is Ephesians 2:8-9; J. you are signed up to share next week
